Wild Women of the Year Candidates:

Holly Aliprandi (nominated by Rebekah Susa). Holly has organized numerous events this year. She was a new member to WWOW when she was asked to run for the board, and she ran anyway and has had a successful first term as vice president! She has done so much this year, and I think she deserves to be the Wild Woman of the Year!

Barb Long (nominated by Jacki Tilton). It is with great pleasure that I nominate Barb for the Wild Women On the Water, Woman of the Year 2020. Barb was on the Board of Directors and responsible for selecting speakers for our monthly meetings. She was never shy in offering suggestions as a Board Member or approaching interesting candidates to speak to our diverse female membership. She made sure that each speaker received a timely thank you card for their interesting presentations. Barb coordinated the fall picnic which took place on September 27th, 2020. She planned for social distancing and meal choices which kept us safe and still let us communicate and have fun together. Barb has been a strong voice in the Wild Women on the Water. I appreciate her contributions and problem solving skills and hope you join me in recognizing her a s our Wild Woman of the Year!

Sarah Marter (nominated by Mary Grace Hood) I would like to nominate Sarah Marter for Wild Woman of the Year 2020. Sarah has worked tirelessly for WWOW since she has been a member. She has been treasurer for at least 2 years and has done an excellent job of managing the club’s budget and finances and she does so with great accuracy and amiability. Sarah also took all the meal orders via email when we met at Shrimp Shack and collected the money for the meals the night of the meeting. This was a very time consuming process and Sarah handled it perfectly and good naturedly. Finally, in this crazy year of Covid 19, Sarah helped set up and run the monthly meeting on Zoom and several other Zoom activities, like the cocktail hour. Without Sarah, I think WWOW would have lost a lot of members. Thanks to Sarah and Debbie, WWOW has not only survived, but thrived! It has been fun to check in every month with each other and try to keep everyone’s spirits up.
In summary, I think Sarah would be the perfect choice for Wild Woman of the Year!
